A person has a lot more roles in the society than you can see. Maybe there are also different psyche in these different roles, which we have to keep up on an everyday basis. This is a display of different versions of myself and inner ambivalence.

Dieses Fotoshooting war eigentlich als normales Bewerbungsfoto-shooting gedacht. Das haben wir auch zunächst gemacht, aber dann sind wir zu den etwas anderen Fotos gelangt. Am Mediapark in Köln kann man schön herumwandern und ich habe dort schon ein paar Fotos gemacht. Mit gefällt die Ecke sehr 🙂

Diese Fotos entstanden auf einem Fotospaziergang mit einigen sehr tollen Fotografen aus Köln und sehr mutigen Models, die der Kälte getrotzt haben für diese Fotos.

Paris Dec 2015 – Another Look – Digital
These are another bunch of photos, I did not publish yet of my little visit to Paris last December.
I hope you like them! There is always a chance to see new photos in another light a few months, well, a lot of months into the future. I try to get back to old photos from time to time and see if I can publish them with another feeling.

Finding my own style
If there is one thing to say about me, then there is this thing: I don’t know myself enough to stick to a thing I like. For instance, the language. I like writing in english, but keep changing the language on my blog from german to english and around. I always think to much, what you have to do, what you should do. I rarely think about what I want to do. That is a key problem on my way to finding my style.
Starting off with the language. I started my blog with filmreviews, kept it in german because I wanted to appeal to a lot of viewers in Germany and because it is my native language. I know it, I like it. But even if I am not as good in writing in english, I never been longer than a week in an english speaking country, I just like writing in english. It’s a more free experience. That is why I changed the film reviews even to english ones. With changing to the photography focus on my blog I thought again about the consequences of having one language to write in. I wrote in german again.
I flipflop. A lot. I just don’t know what to do. I want to have my own style and just don’t do what I want, regardless if others do the same or not. Even if there are a lot of photographers or bloggers aroung who write in english or german, there are always the ones who are successful with it or not. And in the end, it is not the language which succeeds, it’s the person and the product you can produce (am I right?).
Focusing on this aspect of my path to getting more myself I think I have to keep it up and do this for a lot of other areas in my life. For a moment I just have to shut up the rest of the world and just listen to myself for once.
New Photobooks | Pellgrin – Chaplin – Seiff – Kuhn
Erneut war ich beim Kunst- und Fotobücher Lagerverkauf von artbooksonline.eu in Deutz, Colonia. Letztes Mal habe ich lediglich ein Buch gefunden, welches mich angesprochen hat. ELEVEN by Philip-Lorca diCordia, welches mich wirklich angesprochen hat, auch wenn vieles davon nicht meine Welt der Fotografie war. Dieses Mal wollte ich meine Kollektion etwas erweitern (soweit man denn ein Buch eine Kollektion nennen kann). Glücklicherweise habe ich tatsächlich vier Bücher gefunden, die ich zu einem guten Preis erwerben konnte.
Zum einen Paolo Pellegrins As I Was Dying, Chaplin in Pictures, Les Indiscrétes von Jeanloup Seiff und zuletzt Mona Kuhn Photographs.
Wirklich kleine Glücksgriffe wie ich meinen kann. Pellegrin beeindruckt mit tollen schwarz/weiß Aufnahmen in zumeist Kriegsgebieten. Seiff hat eine große Variation an unveröffentlichten Fotos, die mal erotisch, aber auch einfach interessant sind im Bereich der Fashion Fotografie. Mona Kuhn hat mich überzeugt durch kreative Portraits, meist etwas freizügig, aber dennoch inspierierend wie ich finde. Und ja, Chaplin, ihn mag ich halt. 🙂
Die Sammlung wächst also und beim nächsten Lagerverkauf werden es hoffentlich wieder ein paar mehr werden!
Kein Internet und das Leben macht Pause
Ein Umzug, zwei Umzüge, ich mache einfach viele Umzüge dieses Jahr. Und da ist es nicht unüblich, dass man kein Internet hat. Dieses Mal auch nur des Nachbarns Internet, welcher sich so nett gegeben hat, um in der neuen Wohnung ein wenig Leben reinzubringen. Denn ohne Internet ist es schwierig das Ganze hier weiter zu betreiben. Da ich eh ein Muffel bin in Sachen Regelmäßigkeit und Disziplin, konnte ich auch nicht anders und erneut Pause zu machen. Wie immer.
Ich habe tatsächlich eine zweite Hochzeit, die ich in nächster Zeit hochladen werde und dieses Wochenende folgt die nächste. Ein klein wenig Aufschwung gibt es ja.
Dafür brauche ich aber Internet. Bald habe ich auch mein eigenes, hoffe ich.
Daniel und Kamila im Standesamt Pulheim
Letzten März durfte ich Daniel und Kamila bei ihrer standesamtlichen Trauung in Pulheim begleiten. Es war kein großartig sonniger Tag, jedoch war keiner betrübt an diesem Tag, denn hier wurde schließlich eine neue Familie gegründet. Es war mir besonders wichtig die Momente einzufangen, die für die beiden für lange Zeit nach diesem Tag noch in guter Erinnerung bleiben soll. Im kleinen Kreis wurde zunächst die Trauung durchgeführt und nachher haben Daniel, Kamila und ich noch kurz Fotos in der Nähe des Standesamtes machen können. Vielen Dank nochmal und ich hoffe euch gefallen die Fotos!
Filmkritiken: Unfriend – Gut zu Vögeln – Die Winzlinge – Star Wars VII – Solace – Im Herzen der See – Arlo & Spot
Ich berichtete schon, dass ich wieder bei Sneakfilm.de aktiv bin und Rezensionen schreibe. Die im Titel genannten Filme wurden schon gesichtet und rezensiert. Es kommen noch einige mehr! Unfriend 7/10
Überraschend guter, moderner, wirklich vielseitiger Horrorfilm, der das Genre wieder frisch beleuchtet.
Gut zu Vögeln 4/10
Fast wie jede andere deutsche Komödie. Wer darauf steht, gerne.
Die Winzlinge 6/10
Sehr schöne Animationen und eine Geschichte ohne jeglichen Text. Sehr süß!
Star Wars VII – 7,5/10
Ja, der Auftakt ist geglückt. Es ist einfach spaßig, abenteuerlich und stellt tolle neue Charaktere vor, allen voran Kylo Ren.
Solace – 3/10
Wirklich ein verwirrendes Stück Filmchen, das nicht genau weiß wo was hingehört und zu viel versucht und doch wenig schafft.
Im Herzen der See – 6/10
Anständige Geschichte über Moby Dick, die stellenweise sehr mitreißend ist, jedoch auch nicht ganz der Blockbuster ist, der er hätte sein können.
Arlo & Spot – 4,5/10
Pixar kann es nunmal nicht immer. Eine einfache Geschichte, keine großen innovativen Ideen und wirklich nur was für Kinder. Der hohe Druck an Pixar schadet eher.

Thailand, Pai or Chillcity of Thailand
There has been a lot of buzz about Pai. I had to go there, everybody said. And after my visit I can say they were right. Pai has the reputation as the small city, where you can chill all day, enjoy the landscape and yeah, take drugs, I guess. I met some people who were there for a couple of weeks even. For me Pai was great because of some very cool landscapes and my first experiences on a scooter. I shot a lot of photos one sunset over the mountains and could have used all of them. I chose some photos I want to share with you here. In it is the Lod Cave, the Pai Mountain, the Memorial Bridge and some general shots I did there.

Khitos, Khitos or how I do not rest until everything is okey – Blogchange #2359
Soo…what I did: I imported everything from khitostrol.wordpress.com into my main blog. Why? Because it seemed that everything that I did while being on the other site got directed into my writing blog, where I really did not do much in the last months and won’t in the next.
I know, it is a rather sudden to change everything, but I think the three followers can handle it 😀
Let’s see if this works out. If not, I will change it again or stick to this forever.
Thailand ’15
My first big trip. Alone. I needed almost one month to finally muster up the courage to click on that „booking“ button for the flight to Thailand. I am glad that I did it eventually. First I wanted to go away for about three months, then I decided to be away for one month, at the end I should have booked for a longer time. It is always like that, the travel bug gets’ya. Still, I enjoyed the month in Thailand, although there were some hickups. I want to go back to asia in the future that’s for sure.
My trip involved these locations in chronological order: Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai – back to Chiang Mai – Pai – Krabi – Koh Phi Phi – Koh Lanta – Krabi – Bangkok
Because this is my photography blog I only want to get into the photography side of my journey. I shot almost 3000 photos, the iPhone ones included. Most of the time I just wanted to remember stuff, locations etc. just for me, so these will never get to the public. There won’t be so many photos which are artistically worth mentioning. I just took my time with my back-series (click here for that). The other ones are just for pure documentation.
At first I did not have the courage to take every photograph I want, because I didn’t want to harass the people. With time I got a better feeling for Thailand and therefore got more out of myself and even asked people to stand for me in front of a background. I still don’t like the feeling of taking photos of different cultures. Somehow it feels like they are some kind of zoo animal and the visitor takes photos of them, because they are so different. To make it worse, they want to get photographed, because then they get money or more leverage to get more money out of it. I mean, these were the people who dressed up exactly for that reason or live off off the tourism business. The „real“ thai people I asked did not want a picture of them taken, so I let it be. At the end I just wanted to capture the atmosphere of the places I’ve been, not forgetting to make it interesting somehow of course.
I think I have to split up the photos into parts, because it’s easier to pinpoint where everything was. The first photos are from my flights, my hostel, Wat Pho and the streets I walked around in Bangkok.

Tumblr, Upcoming and Co
So, I finally got to the final posts of my change and can post new stuff, which I already did with my photos of Alina. The other things which will be coming soon are my photos of Thailand and another shooting with Ole. I already did an unplanned shooting with Ole on a lazy sunday afternoon. Now I wanted to plan it a little more and had some ideas how I wanted it. He plays the violine, which can be a great asset and I really wanted to establish a contrast with his suit/violine playing to the background. I still need to sort them out some more and then comes the editing. The „problem“ is that I will be gone again for two weeks in Marocco next week, so I won’t have the time to edit as much. On the plus side, as always, a lot more to post when I’ll come back 🙂
On another note: I tried tumblr again and will try to post other photos on there, often times maybe the same. Feel free to check it out, but it still has to be filled with content. To the tumblr.
